Quality standards are important. While most any organization has to follow some degree of government safety standards, those are not always enough.

To ensure the highest quality of products and practices, Ever-Roll is ISO 9001-2015 certified.

While we’re proud of that fact, many people don’t know exactly what it means. Allow us to explain what it is and why it matters.

What is ISO?

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization. True to its name, ISO is an international group that sets standards of quality for industries and commercial organizations. It is independent and non-governmental.

While ISO creates technical reports, specifications, and publicly available guidelines, their primary function is setting standards.

Each set of standards has its own identification number. Those standards are also labeled by the year in which they were last updated.

In our case, we are currently ISO 9001-2008, meaning we follow the 9001 standards that were published in 2008 but we are in transition to ISO 9001-2015. This is the most recent set of standards for our industry. Ever-Roll will be registered to ISO 9001-2015 in June 2018.

What it Means to Be ISO 9001-2015 Certified

To be certified, our practices and systems are audited against a 30-page document both by an external certification group and by internal staff trained in ISO standards.

Areas evaluated include: organization, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance, and more. The 2015 set of standards puts an extra emphasis on performance.

Accountability, particularly in top level positions, is also key.
